CIF (Core InterFace) Monitoring

Quick Reference Guide
Introduction

CIF is the communication layer connecting APO to one or more R/3 systems via ‘tight coupling’.

CIF enables the exchange of data between APO and R/3:
Master data and transaction data
Initial and incremental data transfer

Key CIF functions are:
Define and maintain Integration Models for the data transfer
Monitor data transfer

Define and maintain Integration Models (IMs) for the data transfer

Is not covered in this Quick Reference Guide. The assumption is that IMs have been created and activated.

All R/3 transactions related to the definition and maintenance of IMs are:
CFM1 Create Integration Model
CFM2 Activate Integration Model
CFM4 Display Integration Model
CFM5 Filter Object Search
CFM6 Change Integration Model
CFM7 Delete Integration Model

Monitor data transfer

Two monitoring functions to monitor the data transfer between R/3 and APO:
qRFC Monitor (‘queued Remote Function Call’)
Application Log
